I love my slow cooker. It’s such a handy kitchen gadget to have.
When you need something comforting, that’s easy to go down, a good slow cooker beef stew is just the trick.
Succulent soft meat and tender vegetables in a rich, flavourome gravy…mmm.
I have put stew up before, but like many of my dinners, no two are the same!
- 1lb stewing beef
- 1 large carrot chunked
- Quarter turnip, chunked
- 1 -2 parsnips, chunked
- 1 large diced onion
- Handful of frozen peas
- Handful of frozen sweetcorn
- Dash Worcester sauce
- Good dash brown sauce
- 2 beef oxo
- 1 veg oxo
- Dash tomato sauce
- Tablespoon of mixed herbs
- Tablespoon of plain flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Put your beef in the slow cooker with the salt and pepper, and mixed herbs
Add in the flour, sauces and oxo.
Add in your vegetables and enough water to cover everything.
Give it a stir, pop the lid on and put in high for about 8 hours.
When ready, serve with your choice of potatoes, pasta, rice or warm crusty bread!
