Using your slow cooker to it’s maximum…
You are all probably adept at boiling a ham, and although very lovely, you do need to stick around and keep an eye on it for the couple of hours that it’s cooking.
Here’s how to maximize your time and efficiency, making your life a little bit easier.
Before you go to bed, pop your ham in a pan or bowl (I use the slow cooker insert), cover with cold water and place in the fridge overnight.
This removes the excess salt.
In the morning, take it from the fridge and pour off the water.
Put the insert back into the slow cooker (or place your ham in it if you used a pan or bowl) without any water.
Pop the lid on and put on low for 6-8 hours.
