Well, I should have been in Limerick by now. Getting ready with my friends for a beautiful 3 course meal and a weekend of fun and relaxation.
Of course, we had to cancel it given the current circumstances – #covid19
So, I had put it to the back of my mind.
Then my amazing friend and bridesmaid @staceytighe turned up at the house to drop off a gift.
How very thoughtful. I had no idea, so it was a lovely surprise. Did make me well up though as the reality of waiting another year sank in.
As I unpacked the gift bag and put the flowers into water, the tears flowed. Partly happy, partly overwhelmed and partly disappointed.
Naturally happy…I had just received flowers and a gift bag. I just love receiving presents 😁
Overwhelmed that anyone could be so thoughtful, kind and loving. Never, ever expected anything, so was a bit of a shock. Such a wonderful thing to do 💗
And of course a bit gutted that the whole thing, including the wedding and honeymoon have been postponed 😔
My wonderful husband-to-be comforted me as I wept, holding me close. Then told me the day was mine. Whatever I wanted, he’d sort it.
So, he’s brought snacks (healthy fruit bowl), cooked a fantastic #bbq dinner with meat from @dick.dooley our local butcher.
Toasted marshmallows with my little man (Lucas, my amazing 13 year old)
And now I’m sitting drinking the wine from the gift bag in my new glass, cosied up with the hubby-to-be! (Who, might I add, has assigned himself to be my dedicated stripper for the night, with happy ending 😂)
Positive thoughts are very powerful. And what could have been quite a sad day, has been wonderful. And I am naturally blessed to have such an amazing family and friends around me.
I am thankful to all of you who have supported me and sent me good wishes.
